What is this anomalous object filmed near a spreading contrail?

Answer: A bird in flight.

By labeling the object (a bird) as "anomalous", the implication is - to the observer and reader -  that there is something unusual about this object when there is no way to know this unless I had been able to observe the object close-up, positively identified it as nothing naturally occurring in the environment or conventional aircraft (even secret military technology).  To label the object as "anomalous" is a subjective label assigned by the author/photographer and not necessarily a fact.

By describing the "anomalous" object as being "near" a contrail, it is further  implied that the object must be something "anomalous" because it was flying at a very high altitude which rules out the possibility that it was a bird, bug or debris.  This too is based on subjective analysis and assumption.  Perhaps the "anomalous" object appears "near" a contrail in the resulting video still and/or photograph but there is no evidence to substantiate the claim that the object was flying at the same altitudes at which contrails form.  Since I saw the "anomalous" object myself and deliberately filmed it knowing it was a bird, I know there was nothing unusual about it at all.

There are, however, people going around posting similar images of what are, in all probability, birds, bugs, debris, lens flare or conventional aircraft to the internet and magazines claiming they are video taping and photographing "UFO's" all over the place.  This is sloppy research at best and misinformation at worst as it makes those with genuine images of UFO's and other phenomena subject to greater ridicule and criticism when the bogus photographs and video footage of alleged "UFO's" are eventually exposed.
